St. Paul’s School is a kindergarten through twelfth grade college-preparatory day school in Baltimore County. We are coeducational in the Lower School (grades kindergarten to four) and all-boys in the Middle and Upper Schools (grades five to twelve). Our sister school, St. Paul’s School for Girls, is all girls in grades five through twelve.

Associate Director of Admissions, Lower School
Mrs. Donovan has a true passion for the admissions process. From working with the little ones in their first, sometimes tearful, visits, to chatting with the Upper School applicants as they describe their visit days here – it is clear that the foundational principles of community, inclusion, academic rigor, and caring are all fully present and firmly in place. Martha’s background includes serving as an Admissions Associate at the Key School in Annapolis for ten years. Prior to this, Martha was a producer and editor for NBC Radio and TV News and the Mutual Broadcasting System. She also served as Press Secretary for the U.S. House Telecommunications Subcommittee, and as a press aid for the Democratic National Committee.
David C. Faus
Prior to joining St. Paul’s in 2013, David C. Faus served as headmaster of Falmouth Academy on Cape Cod for eight years. Before leading Falmouth Academy, he served for more than a decade as Assistant Head of School and Director of the Upper School at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School, a large K-12 Episcopal day school in Alexandria, VA.
Mr. Faus began his independent School career at the Landon School in Bethesda, then joined the Hun School in Princeton, his alma mater, where he served as assistant to the headmaster and dean of students, history teacher, dorm parent and varsity coach from 1981-1991. He next served as director of the upper school at the Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY, before moving to St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School.
Lower School Art Teacher
Camille Gammon-Hittelman, or “Ms.G-H”, as her students call her, is the Lower School Art Teacher. She began teaching at St. Paul’s in 2005, and started her teaching in Baltimore County two years before that.
Dean of the Arts for the St. Paul’s Schools
Prior to joining St. Paul’s School in 2014 as Joint Dean of the Arts with St. Paul’s School for Girls and St. Paul’s Plus, John most recently served as Music Department Chair and Director of Choral Music at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, CA. He was actively involved in legislative matters in the visual and performing arts as President of the Southern California Vocal Association from 2012-2014, an organization that represents over 300 member schools in collaborative arts advocacy throughout California and in the State Assembly in Sacramento.
Director of Alumni Relations
Mr. Mitchell returned to St. Paul’s in 2012 after a long career in international publishing as an editor and publisher, during which he served for six years on the St. Paul’s Alumni Association Board. Charley, the author of two books, has deep ties to his alma mater—his son, three brothers, nephew and cousin are all alumni. He also helps staff the Writing Center; serves as the faculty advisor to the student paper, the Page; and coaches middle school sports.
Dr. Bryan Powell
Lower School Head
With more than 25 years experience as an educator, Dr. Powell came to St. Paul’s in 2014. A thoughtful and experienced educational leader with extensive record of achievement as both a teacher and administrator, Powell is regarded as an outstanding role model for children, and a great listener who collaborates effectively with faculty and parents alike.
Upper School Chaplain
Chaplain Sells joined St. Paul’s as the chaplain for the Upper School in 2015. An Appalachian Trail thru-hiker, he has plenty of stories to share. Chaplain Sell has followed his calling into school ministry after finishing his bachelor’s at Sewanee and earning his Master’s of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.
Director of Marketing and Communications
Mr. Smith joined St. Paul’s as Director of Marketing and Communications in fall 2010. He previously spent five years as Director of Communications at the University of Maryland School of Law. Before joining the law school, he was Associate Director of Public Relations at Loyola College in Maryland for six years, and worked for a public relations agency where he oversaw a media relations campaign on behalf of Montreal’s McGill University. Prior to entering higher education communications, Jamie worked as a newspaper reporter, press secretary for a statewide political campaign, and media relations director for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.
Director of College Counseling
Jake has been the Director of College Counseling at St. Paul’s since 2005. A regular presenter at regional and national conferences, Jake was the Chairperson of the AIMS College Counselor group (2007 – 2011), served as Co-Chair of Professional Development for Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC, 2008-2011), was elected a Delegate to the National Association for College Admission Counseling (2010-2012), is the Vice-chair of the PCACAC Admission Practices Committee (2011 – current) and was elected Secretary of PCACAC (2013-2015 term). Prior to joining St. Paul’s, Jake was the Associate Director of College Counseling at Pine Crest School in Florida for five years, Senior Assistant Director of Admissions at Johns Hopkins University for five years and Assistant Director of Admission at University of Vermont for three years. He is a graduate of the Salisbury School (an Episcopal, all-boys boarding school in Connecticut), the College of William and Mary (B.B.A.) and the University of Vermont (M.P.A.).
Digital Media Coordinator
Mrs. Wagoner joined St. Paul’s as Digital Media Coordinator in the summer of 2015. She previously spent three years as Director of Communications and Marketing at Salisbury Academy in Salisbury, North Carolina. Before working as a marketing and communications professional for independent schools, she worked as an Account Executive for Miller Davis, Inc., a full-service marketing firm, for a decade. Prior to her career in marketing, Jill was a journalist for a daily newspaper in North Carolina.
Middle School Head
Mr. Woods has been associated with St. Paul’s since 1984. During his time here he has served as Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, Director of the Summer Programs, Assistant Middle School Principal, Director of Health and Wellness, taught math, science, and religion, and coached numerous sports at the Upper and Middle School levels. During a seven-year hiatus from St. Paul’s (June 1995 – September 2002), Randy served as the Head of the Middle School at The Episcopal Academy in Lower Merion, PA for five years and then was the Director of Field Ministry for the Fellowship Of Christians in Universities and Schools (FOCUS).
